A Way Forward: Leveraging Innovation as a Catalyst for GrowthFor the 11th Annual Africa Innovate Conference, our theme is “A Way Forward: Leveraging Innovation as a Catalyst for Growth”. We plan to highlight the innovative approaches that companies have used to overcome the challenges that the pandemic presented, and simultaneously look towards the future of the continent and Africa’s growth. To do this, we are planning on hosting panels with the themes of(1) Finance and Investments, (2) Agriculture, (3) Leadership, (4) Technology, (5) Mobility, (6) Healthcare, (7) Arts, Entertainment, and Culture, (8) Real Estate and Infrastructure Development, and (9) Education

About the Conference
The MIT Sloan Africa Innovate Conference (AIC) is an annual event that brings together industry, academic, investment, and policy leaders from within and outside Africa to discuss key issues on innovation and business development. As a conference led by students at MIT Sloan, our goal is to curate an event that supports networking, learning, and idea generation across students and industry professionals.
Over the past decade, we have welcomed high profile speakers such as her Excellency President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim of Mauritius; Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization; Acha Leke, Senior Partner Johannesburg and Chairman of McKinsey and Company, Africa; Ralph Mupita, the President and CEO of the MTN Group; Mostafa Terrab, CEO of Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP); Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Industry and Trade, Morocco; Ibukun Awosika, Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria and Tendai Mashingaidze, the founder of Ubuntu Equity.
The conference will take the structure of a series of moderated panels discussing key topics, conference facilitated professional networking, a pitch competition and forums for informal networking and entertainment. The conference will be leveraging a hybrid model with both an in person and a virtual component.
